Honda drives in the new City sedan for Rs 8.5 lakh with upgrades

 New DELHI: Japanese car maker Honda on Tuesday drove in the new City sedan priced at Rs 8.5 lakh for entry petrol version and Rs 10.75 lakh for diesel (both ex-showroom Delhi).

The company said that it expects a "strong demand" for the new model which has already received 5,000 bookings over the last ten days.The City, which has seen sales of over 6.5 lakh units since its launch in 1998, has been the driver model for Honda over the last many years. But it has seen competition become intense after the launch of the Ciaz by Maruti Suzuki and also other models such as the Creta SUV by Hyundai.
 
Honda India CEO Yoichiro Ueno said that the company is confident of gaining its top position the premium sedan segment with the launch of the new City.he car sports 1500cc petrol and Diesel engines and the new model boasts of features such as LED daytime-running lights and enhanced touchscreen infotainment system.The company is also looking at launching new models in the market, and these include the new mini SUV - code named the WRV - which is based on the Jazz hatchback. Also expected to come in the market is the Civic, which will make a comeback in India.
