The carmaker has contributed Rs 55 lakh towards this project. Today, the representatives of the Traffic Police Branch of Pune Police conducted Bhoomi Pujan at the location where the new centre will be set up. The main intention behind the inception of this facility is to minimise the response time in cases of accidents and emergency situations.

 

The Centralized Traffic Control Centre will be instrumental in monitoring and proper management of traffic in the city. Once functional, the remote surveillance of traffic will also take place. This will be through the real time data provided by the cameras installed in 260 prime locations around the city. Following which, the centre will also be used to issue e-challans in future.

Volkswagen shows off its commitment towards road safety by partnering in setting up of this Centralized Traffic Control Centre in Pune. Hopefully, the new facility will leverage the efficiency and effectiveness of the limited Police manpower and utilize them for more value added jobs in traffic management.
