Bajaj Auto that isn’t participating at the Auto Expo 2016, is planning to launch a new executive commuter on February 1 – two days prior to the Motor Show. Though there is no clarity about the new motorcycle’s specifications and other details, it is expected to a be 150cc bike that will be positioned between the Discover 150 and the Pulsar 150AS.

Powering the new 150cc motorcycle from Bajaj Auto could be the same 144.8cc, single-cylinder engine that powers the Discover 150 siblings. Mated to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox, this engine is good for 14bhp and 12.75Nm. Similar to the Discover 150, this one can also be based on the semi-double cradle frame.

The new Platina and CT100 launched last year have helped the company increase its market share in the entry-level segment. The new executive bike will further help the company increase its dominance in the 150cc segment.

The RS400 and CS400 are the other two new Bajaj bikes that will be launched in India this year.
