Air Tanzania recommence their flights to Mumbai

From 9 November, Air Tanzania will resume its services in Mumbai.

According to Josephat Kagirwa, Head of Corporate Affairs and Public Relations, the airline will work on Mondays and Fridays, returning from Mumbai on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The B787-8 Dreamliner will be used for the run.

Kagirwa said that a number of regional flights, including Entebbe, Harare and Lusaka, have recently been restored by the airline.

Air Tanzania suspended flights on 25 March due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 around the world.

A bilateral "travel bubble" with India was recently signed by Tanzania to re-start its flights to and from India.

This move is expected to boost tourism in the East African region.
