NIT launches 21,365 low cost housing projects

 The Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) has started the process to construct 21,365 flats for Lower Income Group (LIG) under the central government's Housing For All scheme, said an official spokesperson, adding that the land has been identified at nine locations across the city for execution of the schemes. In fact, the trust had proposed to construct 50,000 flats under Housing For All scheme in two phases but now it plans to build 21,365 flats. In the project, each flat will be 322.80 sq ft (30 sq m) in the schemes with G+4 floors. In the first phase, 9,019 flats will be constructed, 2,960 at Tarodi (khurd), 1,760 at Gonhi (sam), 1,033 at Tarodi (budruk), and 598 at Wathoda. In the second phase, NIT will construct 12,346 flats at Bharatwada; 4,195 at Punapur, 5,142 at Wanjari, 1,139 at Jaitala, 1,416 at Digdoh (devi), and v at Sakkardara. NIT will come up with a plan for remaining 28,635 flats in the coming days. The tendering process for all the nine locations has already been started and private agencies will be appointed to study quality and strength of soil and other types of factors, said an official spokesperson.
